ขณะเรียนรวีวารศึกษาตอนอายุแปดขวบ ดิฉันทูลเชิญพระเจ้าเข้ามาในใจ ไม่นานก็
พบว่าตนเองเป็นคนชอบร้องเพลงและเต้นรำถวาย
พระเยซูตอนที่เรียนอยู่ชั้นประถมปีที่ห้าดิฉันถูกพวก
เด็กๆ รังแก ทั้งล้อเลียน เยาะเย้ยและเห็นเป็นตัวตลก
จนต้องร้องไห้ตลอดทางที่เดินกลับบ้าน ดิฉันนั่งฟัง
เทปเพลงคลาสสิกในโรงรถโดยเปิดเสียงดังลั่นเพื่อปลอบใจตนเอง และบางครั้งก็ร้องเพลง
สรรเสริญพระเยซูอย่างง่ายๆ ว่า “พระองค์เจ้าข้า ข้าฯรักพระองค์” “สรรเสริญพระองค์”
“ข้าพระองค์ชูมือขึ้นสรรเสริญ”
ดิฉันได้ร้องเพลงและเต้นรำฉลองชัยชนะอีกครั้งตอนคลอดลูก เมื่อเป็นคุณแม่ใหม่ๆ
ดิฉันมีปัญหาแต่พระเจ้าทรงช่วยเหลือ ดิฉันร้องเพลงกับลูกๆ ที่ยังแบเบาะ อุ้มลูกไว้ใน
อ้อมแขนและเต้นรำด้วยกัน เมื่อเห็นลูกยิ้มอย่างไร้เดียงสาแล้วก็ชื่นใจ พอได้อ่านเศฟันยาห์
ที่อ้างถึงข้างบนนี้จึงรู้ว่าที่ดิฉันร้องเพลงและเต้นรำนั้นเป็นการตอบสนองความรักและความ
ชื่นชมยินดีที่พระเจ้าทรงมีต่อดิฉัน
อีกหลายปีต่อมาดิฉันก็ยังมีความยินดีและนึกอัศจรรย์ใจที่พระผู้สร้างจักรวาลทรง
แสดงความรักและ “ทรงร้องเพลงด้วยพระทัยเปรมปรีด์เพราะดิฉัน” พระเจ้าทรงชื่นชม
ยินดีกับเราทุกคน เราจึงควรตอบสนองความรักของพระองค์ด้วยชีวิตจิตใจที่ยกย่องและ
สรรเสริญพระองค์
อธิษฐาน ข้าแต่พระเจ้า ขอบพระคุณสำหรับเพลงรักของพระองค์ขอทรงช่วยข้าพระองค์
ทั้งหลายให้ร้องเพลงรักที่พระองค์ทรงมีต่อผู้ที่ไม่เคยได้ยินเพลงนี้ของพระองค์ในพระนาม

When I was eight years old, I asked the Lord into my heart in Sunday school and soon discovered the joy of singing and dancing for Jesus. In fifth grade, when the kids bullied me, I was mocked, laughed at, and made fun of. I often cried all the way home. To comfort myself, I listened to classical records in the garage and swirled to the loud music. I sang simple praises to Jesus: “I love you, Lord,” “Praise you, Lord,” “I lift my hands up, Lord.”
Again, I found victory in song and dance when my children were born. I struggled with new motherhood, but the Lord helped me.
I sang with my babies, and I danced with them in my arms. Their gentle, soothing responses brought me great joy. When I found the Zephaniah verse above, I realized that my singing and dancing simply gave back what the Lord had already expressed to me.
Years later, I still find that joy. I marvel that the Creator of the universe shows me love and “rejoices and sings over me.” The Lord rejoices over each of us. Our life of praise gives back the love God has given us.
