ขอแทนเรา ในเมื่อเราคร่ำครวญอธิษฐานไม่เป็นคำ" (โรม 8:26)
ผมมีปัญหากับการอธิษฐานมานานหลายปี ปัญหาจริงๆ ไม่ได้อยู่ที่การอธิษฐาน
แต่อยู่ที่ผมกลัวว่าจะอธิษฐานได้ไม่ถูกต้อง เคยมีผู้แนะนำวิธีอธิษฐานไว้หลายอย่าง
ทำให้ผมกลัวจนไม่รู้ว่าจะใช้ถ้อยคำอย่างไรดี เมื่อเกิดวิกฤตกาลเล็กน้อยครั้งหนึ่งซึ่ง
ผมอยากจะทูลพระเจ้าให้ทรงรู้ว่าผมต้องการให้พระองค์ประทับอยู่ด้วยไม่ว่าอะไรจะ
เกิดขึ้น พระวิญญาณบริสุทธิ์ทรงดลใจให้ผมอ่านพระธรรมโรม 8:26 ไว้เสมอ จนใน
ที่สุดผมก็เข้าใจดีว่าคำพูดที่ผมใช้นั้นไม่สำคัญเท่าไรนัก ขอเพียงให้อธิษฐานก็แล้วกัน
พระเจ้าทรงรู้ดีว่ามีอะไรเกิดขึ้นในชีวิตของเราและเรามีความจำเป็นอย่างไร พระวิญญาณ-
บริสุทธิ์จะทรงช่วยอธิษฐานแทนทุกอย่างที่เราพยายามจะทูลพระเจ้า
นับแต่นั้นมาการอธิษฐานจึงง่ายสำหรับผม บางครั้งผมอธิษฐานแบบใหม่ๆ หรือ
ด้วยวิธีต่างๆ เดี๋ยวนี้แม้เมื่อรู้สึกสับสนวุ่นวายผมก็เข้าใจแล้วว่าพระวิญญาณบริสุทธิ์
จะทรงช่วยขอแทนและทำให้คำอธิษฐานของผมชัดขึ้น
อธิษฐาน: ข้าแต่พระบิดา ขอบคุณพระองค์สำหรับผู้ที่อธิษฐานแทนข้าพระองค์ทั้งหลาย
และช่วยให้มั่นใจว่าเมื่ออธิษฐานพระองค์ทรงรู้ว่าข้าพระองค์ต้องการทูลอะไรให้ทรง
ทราบ ขออธิษฐานตามที่พระเยซูทรงสอนว่า “ข้าแต่พระบิดาแห่งข้าพระองค์ทั้งหลายผู้ทรงสถิตในสวรรค์ขอให้พระนามของพระองค์เป็นที่เคารพสักการะ ขอให้แผ่นดินของพระองค์มาตั้งอยู่... สืบๆ ไปเป็นนิตย์” อาเมน

For years, I had trouble praying. The problem was not in the actual act of prayer but in the fear that I wasn’t praying correctly. I had received so much advice on different ways to pray that I was afraid of not making myself understood. In the midst of a minor crisis in which I wanted to communicate that I needed God with me no matter what happened, the Spirit led me to dwell on Romans 8:26. I finally understood. The words I use are not all that important; I simply need to pray. God knows what is happening in our lives and what we need. And the Holy Spirit helps us to pray, giving voice to all we are trying to say.
Since then, praying has been easier for me. Sometimes I pray in new or different ways. Even when I feel muddled, I now understand that the Spirit intercedes, making my prayers clear to God.

Prayer: Thank you, Father, for an intercessor who assures us that when we pray you know what we want to say. As Jesus taught us, we pray, “Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth. Give us day by day our daily bread. And forgive us our sins; for we also forgive every one that is indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil” (Luke 11:2-4, KJV). Amen.
